Clean-up tools

Howdy,

Still pretty new to all of this so I am learning what commands are still in the API and NX in general. But is there a tool to remove the tiny annoying details that make a model complete, but simply get removed prior to meshing? I'm talking about if I receive a model from a customer, it is going to have bunches of fillets and small counter bores I'm just going to go in and remove, has anyone automated all of this? Because it would seem fairly straight forward to look at aspect ratios or minimum lengths and ask if the user wishes to delete the face.

thanks a bunch.

I've not run across any code specifically for this purpose, but it does seem the sort of thing that you could automate (or at least partially automate).

suggest you have a good look around the "clean up" geometry tool already in NX (9 and above) because there are options to do want you describe. For example you can "ask" NX to remove all holes of a specific (greater or smaller even) diameter. Ditto with fillets. The catch is that in some cases NX will not be able to do it because it cannot"close" the geometry. It is very much a case-by-case issue.

I am not saying that you have in mind is not possible but it could be a "hell" of an effort.

Thanks
Regards
