NX 7.5 Drafting (changing patterns through Teamcenter) - VB

Hello,

I'm attempting to program in VB to switch the patterns (out-dated patterns with new patterns), while replacing the patterns (old to new) from Teamcenter. Subsequently, since this is unlike replacing patterns from a letter drive and filenames, is there a method to perform a similar task, while updating the patterns from a Teamcenter environment?

Thank you very much for your help ahead of time!

Is your pattern data currently saved in Teamcenter?

I've never worked with patterns and I am currently not on a TC installation (though I have worked with it in the past); so I would only be able to give some semi-educated guesses. Perhaps someone with pattern and TC experience will be able to help out.

You may also want to post your question on the eng-tips NX forum:
http://www.eng-tips.com/threadminder.cfm?pid=561
or the GTAC solutions forum (there are subforums for NX CAD, Teamcenter, and NX Languages (programming NX); I'd try the NX Languages subforum:

The GTAC forum is only for customers with up to date accounts, you may need to sign up for a "Webkey" if you don't already have one.

Thank you for your response.

Yes - the patterns are in Teamcenter.

I'll sumbit the same question out on eng-tips.com as you've suggested. Concerning the GTAC solutions forum, I'll see if I can get a "Webkey." But do you know what information I'll need to obtain one?

Thank you again for your help!

First and foremost, you will need to be up to date on your maintenance payments!

You might already have a webkey assigned. Open NX and go to Help -> About NX -> System Information; the "Webkey Access Code" may be in that list. If it is not, make note of the "Server ID", you'll need this to get the webkey. Other than that, I think all you'll need is a working e-mail address and an alias for the forum.

If memory serves, they have a FAQ page for obtaining a webkey; their information will be more up to date and complete.

I went to https://plmapps.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com/webkey/ and it appears a "Sold-to ID" will be required as well as the "Webkey." If I can not find both through "Open NX and go to Help -> About NX -> System Information," I'll ask our Helpdesk group to see if they have both pieces of information on the original shipping order.

Thank you once again for your help!

You should be able to find it using Help -> About NX -> System Information. Note that "Server ID" and "Sold-To" are used interchangeably. You may also need the Webkey Access Code that appears near the bottom of that Info screen.
