Hi,
In the last few years working with NX whenever I want to open a complete assembly I have to do select assembly and open it several times until the assembly is completely open.
What you needed to know was whether there is a journal to open the assembly completely with one click?
Thank you
re: open parts
If you are using native NX (no Teamcenter or other PDM/PLM), opening an assembly is largely governed by your load options (whether opening the assembly via a journal or through interactive commands). The default "from folder" option works well only if your assembly and all the component part files are saved in the same folder. The "as-saved" option usually works pretty well unless, and until, you start moving part files around into different folders at the OS level. The "from search folders" load option is the most robust, but generally takes the most time. I suggest spending some time working with the load options to find a combination of settings that consistently opens your assemblies.
re: open parts
I am using native NX and usually I have the assembly files all in the same folder and use the from folder option. My problem is that I always have to do select assembly and open several times until the assembly is completely open which should not be necessary in my opinion.
To get around this I was wondering if there was a journal to automatically select assembly and open several until asembly was completely open?
re: open parts
Based on your description, I'd guess that there is a deeper configuration issue at play that a journal won't likely fix. I'd suggest contacting your local NX support team so that they can walk through the process with you and help find the root cause. As a first step, try opening your assembly then immediately check the NX log file (menu -> help -> log file, scroll to the bottom); sometimes there are plain text messages there as to what went wrong.
