This sounds like a Teamcenter function where you add components to an assembly in TC then the next time you open it in NX you have to place/constrain the newly added components. Is this correct, or are we talking about different things?

That is exactly correct. My problem was that I was trying to get the pending info from components and not from parts. It is working now that I came to that realization. Now if I could only determine if there were pending components under other pending components.
