Hello, I am wondering if somebody can tell me what NXOpen API calls I can make to model something to specific dimensions.
What I am aiming to do is, create a little program that I can use to input dimensions so it will model pipe fittings for me. I need to model pipe fittings to specific dimensions so I can get accurate volume and fluid volume measurements. I can model these things by hand, but it would be nice if I could automate the process.
Any ideas?
re: automated modeling
What you are describing sounds like it would best be solved with a good parametric model (no NXOpen programming necessary). Identify the required input(s), then make a CAD model based on expressions. Associate the appropriate model dimensions to the expressions; when the user changes the input (expression values), the model will update accordingly. Once you have a good parametric model, it could be used as the basis for a part family, a deformed part, or a template part.
NXOpen could be used to help in the creation of such parts, but may be overkill in this situation.

Nice, sounds like less of a headache than using NXOpen! How do I create this parametric model for the basis of my modeling? What is the process?

I sent a very simple model to your email address for an example.
